The kid in the photo, Justin "JAY" McSwain even at the age of six was a natural born singer. In the almost 20 years since, he's grown and established a musical repertoire beyond his years. With his soulful voice and writing aptitude JAY has surpassed and surprised many. His musical history began at an early age singing in his father's church. JAY blew people away with his undeniable skill and never ending range. From a very young age, he knew exactly what he wanted to do.

 

JAY's passion has led him to great accomplishments so far. In 2006 "Nothing", written by JAY was featured on the Stellar Award winning choir New Direction's album, Send the Praise.  In 2007, JAY was named McClean County Idol after beating out some of central Illinois' most talented artists for the title. At the age of 20, he debuted his freshman album, MY TURN a conglomeration  of r&b, hip hop, and soul records written by Jay and produced by some of his music friends in IL, such as producer Sci Fi.

 

The album created a major buzz with industry insiders. Known for jams like, Separate Ways, More, and I Need You, his singles broke across the country on numerous radio outlets such as WGCI's NEW! and spinning with some of the worlds craziest DJ's such as DJ Aktive!  JAY took a little haitus after his first release, but when music is your passion, it's really hard to stay away totally. Over the years, JAY has kept his audience's ear by releasing records here and there and singing on features with other artists.

 

Now the time has come for Jay's next project. The growth in sound , production, and content is undeniable. With a desire to give music lovers even more of his interpretation of melodies and lyrics, JAY has teamed up with some of the hottest producers on his local circuit to give listeners a real treat. This time around being a little older, with a little more experience under his belt- JAY is anxiously ready to hit the ground running. This project is a true testament to his artistry. JAY is more ready than ever to share his music on a larger scale and move people. 

 

From singing with his siblings, performing solo,  writing for Stellar award winning choirs, to writing, recording, and releasing his own album JAY has impressed so many, but there is still so much potential for even greater and he shows no sign of slowing down!
